Hi

am thinking of some M-Audio AV-40 or maybe 30s (small room).

Before I do can anyone recommend a good pair of active speakers for a desktop. mainly for music from my Asus Xonar D2X. Also as main speakers for my TV, but this is secondary as any will sound better than the Samsungs own.

Would consider a good 2.1 system too if good.

Budget about 70 pounds.

thanks.

I have some Logitech V10 speakers, but they are only a bit better than the PCs speakers and are not as good as the TV. I see the M Audio AV30 are in budget and get good user reviews off Amazon.

I have been interested in the M-Audio AV-40 .... have not bought yet

my son has heard the Logitec X-230 (approx £35) ... 2.1 with subwoofer connected to spotify .... he says they are pretty good for the price

I can definitely recommend the AV40s. I had a pair before my current setup and as my first forray into proper speakers they were amazing value for money. They are very impressive for the price and ease of use and you will notice the difference between them and normal pc speakers ten fold.

I would also recommend picking up the Creative X-Mod which is like a budget USB DAC to override the windows sound driver.

Enjoy
