Seeing as these are now £49.99 on Play! Couple of questions though - I'll be replacing my trusty Senheisser 250's, are these better? And 2, do they leak much sound? I'll be using them in the office and on flights so I don't want to hack everyone off

I ordered a pair on Tuesday and they arrived this morning. So far I'm impressed - a nice clear, balanced sound, with enough bass but not overpowering. They're comfortable and well made, and include a decent carry case too. Bonus! They do leak a bit of sound, but I imagine on a flight they wouldn't be noticeable. Not so sure about in an office. I suppose it depends on how loud you like to listen to your music.

Another thing. I was using mine with my iPod classic and they definitely need a headphone amp. I think you have a Fiio from a previous thread, and I found that worked brilliantly. Without it, sound was very flat and needed to be at almost full volume for it to be anywhere near loud enough.

I toyed with getting the Audio Technica ES55's or some Grados, but I think I've made the right decision. I mainly use my Beyerdynamic DTX100's (which I love!) for commuting and in the office so the Goldrings are a 2nd pair to use a home, on a flight etc..

I have a pair, and you really do need a headphone amp like the Fiio with an Ipod Classic. They do leak sound though. I've not had a previous pair of over the ear headphones as large as this, so cant compare how badly they leak.

I've not had much chance to listen to my NS1000's since they arrived last week, so I presume they are still burning in, but I'm really enjoying their sound. Bass is solid but not overpowering and the sound is very clear enabling individual instruments/voices to be easily picked out. It was definitely £50 well spent.

I was listening to them last night, enjoying the sound, but unfortunately my wife doesn't like them due to the sound they leak!
