Hi Simon

You sohuldn't have too many problems getting feedback on the Goldrings. Many forum members picked them up when Play.com offered them for £50 a while ago.

I bought a pair, and I'm very happy with them. The sound is excellent, and the noise cancelling adequate for both trains and planes. Note that it won't completely shut out voices and loud noise, but it's a massive improvement and worth it, if you travel much. They do sit a bit tight on the ears, but I find it bearable for a few hours nonetheless. They look really well-made, not cheap at all, and come in a nice case with detachable cable and all the adaptors you'll ever need.

£50 !!!! Dam, looks like i have chosen the wrong time to buy them.

Thanks for the reply. i am currently considering whether i actually need the noise cancelling stuff really. i just want some decent closed back headphones and i am wondering if there are better options out there for the same sort of price which dont have have n/c. will be checking out the audio technica as well at some point.

Hi Simon

This was discussed in the original thread. Unfortunately, I can't find it anymore.

I think Clare said that normal headphones in a similar price range will be far superior to noise-cancelling ones where sound quality is concerned.

yeah i was thinking the same thing. i've kinda narrowed it down now to the following options:

Goldring NS100

Bose On Ear - http://www.johnlewis.com/230447187/Product.aspx

Sennheiser HD25 - http://www.iheadphones.co.uk/headphones/23547/Sennheiser+HD25+ii+Monitoring+Headphones.htm

Audio Technica ES7 - http://www.atheadphones.com/products_product.aspx?ProductId=24. bit 'bling' for my liking tho.

now all i need to do is find a magic shop which sells all of them so i can give each one a proper test.

if anyone has any thoughts on which are the better options i would greatly appreciate it.
