I need some new headphones for my ipod. Looking at a well known hifi shops website the above are advertised as a What Hifi 5-star product, but looking on this website they have been given a 3-star.

So whats right? Any opinions on these headphones, they can be had for £25 at the moment.

At some point they will have been given a 5 star rating, but the last time they were reviewed, they cost £50 and other rivals had brought out new models at that price which were better. Of course now you can get them for £25, that means they might perform better than a 3 star rating might indicate against other rivals at the £25 bracket, but with so many deals going on at the moment, it's hard to say!

Yes, to clarify, the Goldrings were a five-star product when you didn't have competition from Shure, Klipsch, Denon etc crowding into the £50 price-point - at that price, they are now comparatively average (hence 3 stars). However at £25 they're a great punt (though the Shure SE110s, which can occasionally be had for the same money, are an even better buy). The GX200s also need to be used with their accompanying, grey Comply buds to be heard at their best (the bass is terrific when you use these buds).
