I thought I was reasonably computer literate but this problem has got me stumped - I have also trawled the net for an answer to no avail and hopefully one of you out there more familiar with Ipad 2 can help. Here's the problem:

I have a well specced PC with Outlook 2007. At the moment, I am successful in getting emails from my Yahoo account on my iPad2 but what I really want is to receive the emails received on my PC on my Ipad as well - if it make any difference, I am only bothered about it on my home WiFi Network (ie. not when out and about on 3G). Although my ISP is TalkTalk (they seem to work OK for me despite their reputation!!!), I actually have my own domain (for example: 'ayjaycee.com') along with an email address ( for example: 'ayjaycee@ayjaycee.com') with my domain hosts (1&1) forwarding emails to my TalkTalk email account account. Any emails that I send from that account are sent as 'ayjaycee@ayjaycee.com'). As I say, I want the ability to have the same emails received on both PC and iPad and also to send them from the same address with those that I send from either also appearing on both.

Can anyone help please - I'm going away to lie down in a darkened room.

Thanks in anticipation.

Just to follow my earlier post, I have now got messages arriving at both PC and iPad but still cannot send them from the iPad. When I try, I get a message saying the message was undeliverable as the 'Sender Envelope' (ie. ayjaycee@ayjaycee.com) 'is different from my SMTP Authorised User' (strangely, I thought that the same issue would have affected receiving messages in Pop email but it doesn't as I am getting them). I ain't got much hair left and I am in danger of pulling the rest out. Helllppp.

This is an edit 5 minutes later - the iPad seems to have stopped receiving the emails now and I don't think I did anything to it to cause that to heppen. Heeelllppp please.

in the outlook email account settings, have you got the 'leave a copy on the server' box checked?

(it's buried away in more settings, advanced)

my igadgets are not set up to talk to outlook directly but pull emails from servers. if outlook is not leaving a copy on the server then there is nothing for your ipad to retrieve once outlook has picked them up.

are you syncing your ipad with just talktalk and picking up forwarded emails from 1&1?

why not sync ipad direct with 1&1? (the same applies for outlook). in. have 2 inboxes on each.

just google '1&1 outlook 2007' and similar for ipad for all the pop/smtp settings.

good luck.

Fatman,

Thanks for both. Done the first with no difference (ie.checked the box). On you second message, I am not sure that I can go straight to 1&1 - in any event, I don't think I want to as I have got thing set up so that 1&1 forwards staright to my TalkTalk account (as indeed does a Gmail address) and Outlook is configured to show emails as coming from my domain email (even though it is actually going through the TalkTalk servers).

All in all this is driving me mad, as indicated above, for a short while, my test emailsd appeared in both Outlook and iPad and then stopped without me actually doing anything to cause it (that I know of anyway but I can't be sure).

Maybe what I want is simply not possible - as the old saying goes: Life's a ***** and then you die!!!

is worth considering having seperate inboxes for all your email accounts into both outlook and your ipad.i can understand the requirement for forwarding to save you logging onto various webmail pages but you are using outlook on a computer and an ipad which can have multiple email accounts....... i have a few 1&1 websites and email accounts and have set up emails into both outlook and igadgets.http://faq.oneandone.co.uk/communication/e_mail/how_to_send_and_receive_e_mail_from_your_computer/4.html(indeed i have had a few head scratching moments on setting up but a google search has always resolved!)
