Question Gemini Man 4K

Have any of you purchased the 4K steel book version from zavvi. If so have you had any issues with the 4K disc.
Mine will not play on my OPPO 203, the standard Blu Ray however does.

Zavvi are going to replace mine.

I have had a few problems with 4K discs over the years, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon was one I can remember. There were others too though.

Hi Gel,
This is the first disc I have had an issue with in years.
As I said Zavvi are going to replace, I have not come across via google anyone else having an issue so maybe a faulty disc.

Hi, yes I have had a few faulty discs too.

I also used to have problems with dust or fingerprints on one of my old Oppo 203’s kept freezing!
Next one I bought was fine, mind you the first one came out right at the beginning before the firmware updates.

Update:

Zavvi replacement still does not work for the 4K UHD disc.
I have had a response from OPPO support.
They advised to set the player to UHD 24 for the video output, I also had to set it to source direct.
The film will now play. Noted that this film is recorded at 60 fps and not a 24 fps.

So is it a case of the OPPO not being able to downconvert 60fps to 24fps?

I thought so, but the Joker had the same problem when I watched it last night.
Had a day of work today so watched Midway and this stuttered with the opening credits.

Are OPPO still providing updates, or has that finished now? At some point, issues will start to creep through, probably more so with 4K discs.

No firmware updates for the 205 since Feb 2019. All their other kit has even older updates (!!). Looks like it's finished.
