Gabriel Fauré - Pavane

Can anybody give a recommendation for a particularly good composition of the above piece of music.

The Wimbledon Choir Society did it in 1998.
Ended up being the BBC's World Cup '98 theme.....

You will find Faure's Pavane in a good number of 'Classical Compilation' albums, but other versions on CD tend to come as fillers. Often, the main work is Faure's famous and beautiful 'Requiem', which you also might enjoy. I see that the version which made this work popular, recorded by King's College Choir in the 60s, is in EMI's 'Great Recordings of the Century' at bargain price. A slightly later recording of Durufle's Requiem (also very beautiful) is also included.
