That might be the case with the higher end stuff but I demoed the PM-7001KI years ago and it was underwhelming.

I’d recommend you try the more recent high end Marantz gear.
I think you would enjoy the experience.
probably a good sweet spot between Arcam and Leema which I know you enjoy.

It's strange about Marantz. I have the upmost respect for the brand (still own a vintage FM tuner which I love) but every time I've heard their amps, quite a few over the years, they don't quite tick all the boxes. Other than the 7001 KI, heard the 8003 and 8005 -- this was back when I was first searching for the Arcam replacement.

That all said, the Ruby or your little beasty may just change that perception. They are certainly on the list.

Based upon praise in reviews and sales I would mark the oak variation (most sought after) of the Wharfedale Evo 4.2's and the Kef Ls50 as future classics.
