From Onkyo 606 to 875

Hi. I want to return my 606 in exchange for the 875 and add an extra £200 for the silver colour. Is this worth the upgrade? Does the 875 sound good even in low volumes? The 606 has the new Audyssey dynamic equalizer but the 875 doesn't. Thanks.

well minding the reviews,the 875 sounds much better than the 606 with music.that would be the only reason i would upgrade if i had the 606.

Thanks ear. It's just that I am so impressed with the new dynamic equalizer that the 606 has. However, the 875 has the advantage in stereo. It is really hard to decide.

im not sure about the "dynamic". I know the 606 has an equalizer, and the 875 also has one.but i guess the 875 just doesn't regulate it with the audyssey.equalizer is a must other brands dont have.

I previously owned a 605 and when I changed it to 606 I began to notice the improvement in loudness. However, the 606 only has audyssey 2equalizer with dynamic equalizer as compared to 875 which has Audyssey Multiequalizer but no dynamic equalizer. I heard the new 876 will have a Dynamic equalizer installed but the price will go back to a grand.

I wouldn't go for the 875 having a 606.mostly when using it for movies only.I would wait to buy a 876 in a few months probably.that would seem a better switch.but thats me.

Can anyone comment on the merits of the upscaling between the 2 ? Is the 875 that much better ?
