About to take delivery of a Panasonic 46 inch Plasma with Freesat built in. Total newcomer to Freesat so not sure what I need? Have a Sky dish on the wall at present hooked up to Sky HD. Am I being too simplistic in thinking that if I unhooked the cable to the Sky box and screwed it in to the rear of the TV I would receive Freesat???

you would get freesat reception yes, but obviously you'd lose signal to one of your sky hd tuners.

when you had hd fitted they would have fitted a multi-port lnb to the dish, maybe a dual lnb but more likely to be a quad lnb. if the latter is the case then you'll have spare ports on the lnb and could run another cable from the said port to your tv. that way you wouldnt lose any of the functionality of the sky, and will be able to use both simultanouesly without the hassle of swapping cables, which will become tiresome after a while
