Hi, does anyone know if Freesat will work from a communal Sky dish? I have read it works from a standalone Sky dish and I only ask because when I enquired about Sky+ I was told that it would not work from a communal dish.

Sky plus requires a dual feed from the gizmo that sits at the focal point of the parabolic whatsitsname. Freesat only requires a single feed for a picture so IMHO, you should be ok. I presume you have a single feed. The dish is aligned to the satellite that provides both services.

Sorry for the lack of technical terms, I'm not a geek

I bought a Panasonic PZ81 tv a month or so ago and live in flats that are sky+ enabled. I already have sky but thought that getting freesat would give me a few hd channels. Freesat does work using a communal dish. However I lose the functionality of sky+. At the moment i still use sky but when something decent is on BBC HD or 'ITV HD' I watch them.............on another thread why is it that when it gets warm my communal dish stops working!
