Freesat question?

I moved into a new house a while ago and have a satalite dish on side of the house left by previous owner is aprox 2 years old - am i right in thinking if i buy a free sat box I just need to plug it in and i'm good to go?

yep will be fine, assuming that the previous owners were using it for sky or freesat and its not aligned to some other satellite
