Four speakers off a stereo amp?

Hi folks, looking for a little advice. A friend of mine has "wired" his house and wants to power a set of monitor audio shadow 60s and a pair of in-ceiling MA speakers (don't know model) from a Cyrus 6 amp. Temporary measure while he sorts out the rest of a surround system.

He's ignoring my "don't bother" speech. Anybody any advice on how this can be done without blowing anything up?

You could wire the speakers in series, ie one Shadow and one in wall per channel. Would be safe enough.

The usual parallel, ie two speakers off one set of terminals, setup could present a rather low impedence and cause the amp to over heat/fail.

Without having tried it it is impossible to say just how well it would work, series connection would be safe though.
