Format full house?

Are there films that you've had in all the four mainstream formats, namely cassette (of any kind), DVD, blu ray and 4k?

I'm not sure about a few (The Silence of the Lambs, The Shawshank Redemption), but these are definitely in:

Alien.
Aliens.
An American Werewolf in London.
Jaws.
Jurassic Park.
Star Wars IV-VI.
The Thing.

The list of films that have gone through all three disc formats is very much longer. Anyone else old and sad enough to have ticked any off on all four (or am I going to be talking to myself here)?

It's an oft-repeated comment of Mrs GSV's that I was originally only going to replace my favourite DVDs with blu ray, and that feels more like how I'm approaching 4k, but my excuse is that as screens get larger...

She seems to be wearing it so far!

Remember HD DVD? I still have a collection of them. Super cool Crimson cases, shame it lost the format wars. I was hoping Sony would lose, like the VHS v Betamax.

See below my entire collection of HD-DVDs; for each of them, I also have it in DVD and Blu-Ray format.

Maybe it was a blessing Blu-Ray won the format wars, the tracking on my Toshiba HD-DVD player kept sticking.

My HD-DVD collection, destine to lie on my bottom shelf for ever and ever!

I have had the VHS of Top Gun, Top Gun DVD, Top Gun DVD collectors Edition, Top Gun Blu-ray, Top Gun 3D Blu-ray and Top Gun 4K Blu-ray. So 6 different editions! 🙂

And I have it on Apple TV too and had it on HD-DVD, so 8 different editions. 😎

Nor do I buy films in any format now, because the days where I want to watch a film more than once are long gone

I never buy films in any format too, in fact rarely watch films at all. Actually I could watch a film 4 times and never see the whole film, because I usually fall asleep...

All my DVD collections I donated to the local Old People's Home. It's a shame I can't do the same for HD-DVD's, it's pretty much a dead format. Frisbee anyone? 🙂

I have the original Star Wars trilogy on VHS, VCD, Laserdisc, DVD, Blu-Ray and 4K.

This is the only film set I have in all formats and it’s really just a nostalgia thing. 😊
