Foobar was quite happy to play downloads in HD 96000Hz and 24 bit. I was and still am using WASAPI plug in.

For some reason I now get the following error message

"Unrecoverable playback error: Not enough storage is available to complete this operation. (0x8007000E)"

I have to change the output to 16 bit and it plays.

I am using Vista and have Realtek HD audio manager. I am playing back via AVI ADM 9.1T with optical connection.

It had worked for months and nothing has changed on the media centre with one exception which is that I have a DACmagic now connected via USB which in turn connects to a headphone amp. I can't think it would be this connection interfering as when active it changes the audio output but releases back to the Realtek Digital output manager when the DM is turned off.

Thanks

Could be something to do with Dacmagic since its only 16bit 44.1 through usb connection.

Try checking output options.

Thanks for the suggestion. I unplugged the DM and the problem persisted.

So I looked into the preferences of Foobar and found that for some reason (in other words I must have changed it!) the buffer length was set up at 8500ms.

Changed it back to the recommended 1500 and voila, all is back and working again.
