Focal 700 and V series difference

Is the V series the same but an older model of the 700 series? Can't really find the real answer if anyone knows.

I've heard the JM Lab Chorus 714S and they were very good at less than £400. Have heard the V version and they were, from memory, equally as good, but the RRP had jumped to around £700. Whether the price makes them worth it or not is another question (they can be purchased for about £400 from certain outlets).

Nevertheless, the 714Vs are still in my top 5 floorstanding speakers around that sort of price bracket.

The reason I asked is because I heard the Focal 726 today and I really liked the presentation and the amount of detail you can still get from these

floorstanders. The original 726v where considerably cheaper on line which was the reason I asked.

I have the 826v and have been very happy with them. I can't recommend them highly enough.
