Floor standing speakers

I'm running a Marantz CD6003, NAD C320BEE amp, NAD C422 Tuner, QED Silver Cable and Mordunt-Short 904 Floorstandners.

I'm currently looking at another up grade to my system by purchasing a new set of floorstanders. I have a budget of £500 and am after some feed back on what to buy brand new. Though a friend of mine is offering me a pair of RS6's second hand in mint condition, would these be over-kill or suitable?

NAD amps go well with Q Acoustics speakers by all accounts.

Might be worth auditioning the new 2050 floorstanders?

No, the RS6s would sound fine with Nad. The Nad is pretty similar to Arcam, lacking an over bright character that some amps suffer from. This is an ideal match for Monitor Audio....

The RS6's would suit the NAD very well indeed

If you didnt want to go for those though and wanted new then I would suggest the Acoustic Energy Neo 3's or the Q Acoustic 2050's.

Q Acoustics 1050i - former Product of the Year in another mag, under £200 now the new 2050 floorstander is out. By all accounts a big sound that suits music and movies well. It'll withstand an upgrade or two as well as it's been used with a Leema Pulse (£1200 amp) and wasn't outshone in the review by the better quality amp.
