Fiio X3 Micro SD Card Formatting

Might have asked this before, but I seem to have messed up my 128 gigabyte micro Sd card for my Fiio X3 and am trying to re-format it and start loading music from my server starting from scratch.

What format does the micro SD card need to be for the Fiio to read it, and any tips on how to do this in Windows 8.1?

I've been struggling for two nights and I still can't get the card fully erased and / or re-format it. The Fiio seems to think there's two CDs or parts thereof left on the card but Windows 8.1 won't let me erase them and I'm not sure about re-formatting until I know what format I need to use to, erm, format the card.

I'm beginning to think the card itself might be "cream crackered".

I have my card formatted to FAT32 which Fiio recommend.

There's a function in the X3's settings to format the SD card for you if you don't want to do it using a PC.
