Last year(2010) tv models had freeview Hd tuner, and internet at tv as main new features apart from 3D tvs.

Can you please tell me after sony and panasonic 2011 range came out what new features will be there apart from 3D available in probably 32 and 37inches size also.

Well for starters, you get 3D at those smaller, sub-40in screen sizes - not an option in 2010.

And internet TV has taken a real step up - many more exciting applications, from Sony's Qriocity movie/music-on-demand service to Panasonic's planned gaming/lifestyle apps (turning your TV into a games console, effectively). And Samsung and LG have a strong app strategy too.

The growth of TV 'apps' means sets with more connectivity - whether that's additional USB sockets so you can plug in accessories (eg games controllers) or the ability to control your TV (and its internet services) via your iPhone/iPad, not just its remote control.

Some of the new Panasonic sets also allow you to record TV onto SD Cards (as well as USB); though at the moment you are (frustratingly) restricted to playing back those recordings on the self-same set.

On top of all the above, we've seen promises of improved performance, faster response times, better backlighting etc etc etc.

The proof, as ever, will be in the hands-on, comparative testing of all these new TVs. And with so many new features to try out, that may take some time!
