You could also consider the Audioengine A2 speakers which I have heard are very good for the money...slightly more expensive, but believe they can be had for £135.00. Couple of guys use them on here and I believe they would allow a little more flexibility with regards to them having their own amplifier and also a couple of other inputs.....I believe you may be able to ad a DAC to the A2's if required at a later date. Maybe worth a look?

Another tick for the A2's. Great speakers for the price and seriously considering a second pair myself...

Edit: ps, A friend has the HK system and whilst it looks nice, to be honest the A2's knock socks of it, and give amazing amounts of very well controlled bass, without that annoying jellyfish sub to trip over...

I am interested in purchasing either a pair of B & W MM-1 laptop speakers or the Focal XS 2.1 speaker system for my laptop. I have an itunes account and have recently subscribed to Spotify. I know that my itune tracks will play through those two speaker systems, but I am concerned that I will not be able to play my Spotify tracks through these speakers, can anyone help. I have contacted Spotify and even they are not sure. (I think it is because the speakers on both systems will be connected via the DAC rather than the 3.5mm jack).

Thanks noogle for that answer. If I find out they will not play Spotify tracks, then I have been told a way where I can export the Spotify tracks into itunes.

Regards

Billy
