Dear all experts here,

would hope to seek some advise as recently I have just given up my set-up due to space constrain (kind of sad....). While reluctant to give up this hobby, I turned to headphone and digital music for some relieve..... but hope to enjoy more out of what i have. currently, I have a pair PX100 and drawing music from my macbook pro which i find that some add-on would be necessary. So, now I'm in a dilemma if i should get another pair of headphone (looking at Grado SR325is or SR60i) or should add a headphone amp (Project headbox II) or a amp/DAC combo with a budget of around $300 (USD).....

Hope any kind soul could give some direction and recommendation for what or which to go for since this is a new area of audiophile for me.

Thanks for the reply, will sure to check the mentioned. Meanwhile, would it be sound to upgrade the headphone to SR325is/ SR60/ SR80 or to add a headphone amp?

Hi Jam3s. Have a look at my setup for some ideas; http://community.whathifi.com/forums/t/268436.aspx . Firestone also do a combined DAC and headphone amp, the Fubar III available at Audiophile Products or Firestone direct -

As for headphones, even though they get the awards, I thinl that the not much more SR80s a big step up from the SR60s. I have not heard the SR325is. I have the PX200s which sound very capable on the end of my headfi setup. I would get the amp fist and then save asap for the headphones and aim for the SR80s as a minimum. The two will be a bit over your budget.
