Had a few scratches and a chip on my TV when first delivered , so i had the company replace it with no problem the other day

Now the Original TV came with a protective tape around the picture frame to obvously stop marks scratches etc

The replacement didn't have this tape at all, so I was a bit confused by it

Also the TV had a preference to Home/Shop setting when turning on the first time. Shop being brighter than the Home setting

Does this sound a bit suspect??

The TV is a Pana 42THPZ85

If your replacement did not have the protective tape and all those lovely stickers a new screen comes with then there is a possibilty that it is a factory re-pack (ie a set that was sent back for repair and since been fixed) as opposed to a Brand New never used unit. Some companys opperate in this way when replacing faulty units, EG Sky do this if you unit develops a fault.)

If you are happy with this replacments condition and its working properly then I would not bother but I would personally give the set a inspection all over checking say screw/bolt heads on the rear to look for signs of if the rear panel has ever been removed as if this is the case it would definatly point towards a factory re-pack.
