it will no doubt be 2 or 3 years before theres a decent amount of content,i would like to see the ball rolling asap so that 3 or 4 years down the line so i have the excuse for a BIG 4k tv. ;)

The dude has spoken and I couldn't agree more

I'm most likely going to buy a TV this year. Considering I usually don't change A TV for 5 years, it makes sense for me to go for a 4K TV. I even enjoyed watching DVD on a 65-inch 4K from 8 feet distance at the Bristol show. Netflix has set the ball rolling. YouTube has some 4K clips. BBC is already testing 4K, so is Sky. 4K blu ray players probably will come next year.

Honestly, I think it will be a while before a 4K disc format becomes available. If you remember back to when Full HD first came about, both bluray and HD DVD were available were already available for sometime before FULL HD screens became massively produced. This time it's the other way around. I think the focus will be through digital delivery via internet for the immediate future.

Yes, BBC initially won't, as UHD won't pass the public value test given the lack of UHD TVs. This scenario isn't going to remain constant forever. Besides, it's going to develop 4K delivery via iPlayer in the first instance.

BBC wouldn't be part of the UHD forum with Sky if it wasn't committed towards 4K.
