Ever had to remove foreign objects from speakers?

Today I decided to try my subwoofer in a different position (was actually worse so it ended up back where it was).

Whilst moving it I heard something rattling inside. After a few flips I was able to retrieve a (toy) mobile phone and a letter block (via the port). A few more flips and no further rattling so went to put the sub back. As I moved it again I could hear something else inside. No amount of flipping allowed me to retrieve whatever was in there so I ended up taking the back plate off. Found another letter block and a piece of a train that, as it has metal wheels, had stuck to the magnet!

What I also had to laugh a is that those toys must have been in there for at least (I reckon) 7 years!

Anyone else (I imagine this affects people with kids most) had to retrieve stuff from ported speakers (or other equipment)?

(If you have kids, you might want to check! 😂)

I'm late to the party with this topic, don't know why I've never seen it before. Anyway. When my kids were little we had hamsters and one of them, Lola, was a proper escape artist we often came home to an empty cage and find her later we never knew where she went, until one night we came home and just saw these tiny pink eyes in the front room. We turned the lights on she darted but we saw where. Little sod had made a nest in my subwoofer with bedding out of her cage. Paradigm subwoofer with two small ports at the back bedding was stuffed into one of the ports and into the back of the subwoofer.
