I was copying and pasting my reply which was rejected EVERY time

Im wondering if I had a smilie in that might have caused it?

I was going to post a question to Andrew with a major hometruth attached to it, but it kept throwing up the error

And yet If I posted something else, or even something random like "nsajkfgh87234r" it worked!

Infinite paranoia drive now disengaging...
 
for several weeks I could not post pics or links. then suddenly I could.
today, again, error message for a pic in "edit post". but OK in 'reply to post'...
Mystery.

We were having problems with our firewall preventing images beng posted from our own domains (which is daft), but they were fixed for a short while, will need to investigate them again. Though it may be a moot point shortly.
 
Same error message for me with Firefox. Then I got this;

The connection was reset
