O.k. let's lower the tone and talk seriously. Sarcy comments invite?
I don't think you can accuse the EB2s of being dull even with the soft dome tweeter (I seem to remember it is one of the very accomplished ones of that manufacturer). As they have very clear midrange they should suit dialogue quite well. Would be a waste though, they do make singing voices sound great. And as the now more numerous reviews will tell you, they certainly will not shake the room as much as some big floorstanders or even some standmounts do. The bass is very revealing and differentiates clearly but not overly weighty.
You can see that I am not exactly driving them with the latest in high end electronics, but the results are still great. Saying that, a quick play on the old Kenwood receiver (just cause I can) with tiny power output (16W @ 8Ohm
) made them sound a bit flat. So all of you with fancy electronics may like them even more. And as you expect (and I hoped for) near the wall is fine! So time to go back and listen to them.
Or ponder about the various incarnations of Richard, Ricky and ... whatever else he uses.
And he still answers the phone too. Maybe he is an alien in the first place with multiple limbs to build speakers, make forum contributions and be nice on the phone all at the same time, so no abduction me thinks, just a quick trip home.
