I recently ordered the Dynavox CS-PA1 for use with my Q Acoustics 2010i, I bought it because it was cheap and sounded decent in a test video. But, the one who made the video told me the amplifier has only 3W of power. The people who sell the amplifier say it has 50W of power. Who should I believe? I don't have the amplifier yet.

Also, is 3W enough to play music at 65 - 85 decibel?

I am confused as to how you can tell the quality of an amplifier by listening to a 'test video', can you explain?

Not sure where the 3w came from it is quoted as 50 in all sources and even the similar Topping TP22 is 30w.

The person recorded the sound from the amplifier and speakers, so I could get an idea of what it sounds like. And if it sounds decent recorded while using my very cheap logitech computer speakers then it should sound good in real life. Because it sounds worse if it's recorded and if you listen to it with bad speakers.

Carry on believing then.... I am afraid I can't.

Ah, now you've got me! I recently bought an Audiolab 8000a, but I'd just look on eBay for amplifiers that I like the sound of. I guess one problem might be if you need the DAC facility (although external DACs are available, it's not so neat). I think there are plenty of decent amps at around £50 (eg. Rotel RA820) to which you could add a budget DAC, such as the Muse?

The above is pure guesswork, though - not a fully thought-through proposal.
