Dynaudio DM2/6

Just hooked them up. Still sitting with a big grin, listening to Plan B - She said. They are on my TV cabinet and I can't imagine how they'd be when the stands arrive. Until then, I'm not going out again

The DM 2/6's are indeed superb speakers. As i write this i've got the DM 2/6's connected to a Plinius Hiato amplifier and the combination is just sounding stunning

Anyway i hope you'll the performance of your new DM 2/6 speakers for many years to come.

Btw, what colour have you chosen please?

Okay! The only problem is, I cant demo the dyns with NAD i sweden.

Is the main reason power(w)? why you prefer them over the rotel?

The main reason i prefer the NAD C326BEE over the Rotel RA-04SE is because the NAD is more musical as i've found the C326BEE to have greater verve and flow to its sound. This and the better quality of power of the C326BEE enables this amplifier to ultimately offer a superior overall match with the DM 2/6 speakers 🙂

With that said on the NAD. Would you also prefer it with a B&W 685 combo over the rotel or is it just for the dyns?

I am sorry for my late reply as i've been busy.

Yes, i would rather also pair the B&W 685 speakers with the NAD C326BEE in preference to the RA-04SE. The C326BEE (amongst it other qualities) also incorporates NAD PowerRrive circuit which offers far better stability and therefore will help keep the 685's or the DM 2/6's in far greater check almost regardless of comparable playback level. The C326BEE with its finely judged tonal balance and its ability to energise speakers helps push the C326BEE ahead and ultimately leads to offering a more musical performance which can be enjoyed for hours without fatigue :bigsmile:

Btw, i will still highly recommend the superb DM 2/6's as these warrant the premium over the 685's

I auditioned the b&w 685 and the dynaudio X12 (similair to dm2/6 ?) with the marantz 7000 series (wich are more neutral as marantz used to be) the dyn's had more subtle details and a deeper soundstage but there was missing 'something'

The b&w's had a little less, but richer details, voices had 'chest', instruments where full and the bass is not just there, you can feel it too.

Soo fore me the b&w's are more exciting, but with a very neutral amp and a pretty hard room, they sounded great out off the box a week agoo and they are getting better and better.

There is no such thing as the best speaker, the best speakers will sound great with your equipment in your room, try too listen at home!

Personally, I feel the Rotel is far from yucky. For me, the Rotel is about as neutral as you can get at the budget end of the amplifier market, and allows people to get a taste of what many high end amplifiers sound like. I find the Rotel is a tighter sound, one which grips the speaker better than many. The NAD is warmer, softer, 'nicer'. Which do you prefer? Accuracy and neutrality is touted as the be all and end all many times on this forum, and for me, that describes the Rotel.

im looking for a sub £500 set of speakers for my arcam solo mini to repace a set of original quad ll'L's.

the dynaudio's were lookining perfect until i saw the sensitivity and impedence! will the solo struggle?

The Solo's pretty resilient, but I'd stick to something a little easier to drive like the Q300's, or the RX1's, or RX2's if you have a larger room. But do try them out though, they may be exactly what you're after.

I don't think there is one. One or two standmount models from other ranges may exceed them in certain areas, but I found the 52SE's a far better balanced speaker than many other Dynaudio's.

You seem to know my speakers (Audience 52SE). If I upgraded my Naim amp to the XS (integrated) - would they still be a good match? or would I not be getting the most out of the amp?
