dvd recorder like sony rdr hx 980 versus nas with dvd ripper like lg n2r1d

Hi all, just wondering if I have a computer with dvd burner or nas like lg n2r1d, do i still need the sony rdr hx 980? Thank you

Depends what you want to do. If you want to record off-air, the DVD/HDD recorder is possibly the more convenient solution; if you want to make illegal copies of DVDs, the computer route may be more suitable.

Streaming to/from where? Whichever, the computer would have to be the favourite, on the simple grounds that the HX980 has no streaming capability.
