DVD Cleaning

Does anyone know if there are any products available that clean the inside of a player/recorder, and actually work? I have a DVD rec which is out of warranty and won't read discs, blank, finalised or prerecorded, whilst everything else including the HD works OK. Before I pay out for an estimate + repair, I was wondering if there is an effective cleaner that I could try.

Go to a record shop and buy a CD lens cleaner for £3. Should work fine.
