Any advice for a novice?

I have recorded a movie from I tunes onto onto a DVD-R, however this wont play on my toshiba sd-220eb.

any way round this?

..via my desk top pc~a basic packard bell with dvd writer.the movie was downloaded via i tunes...i guess the recording format or disk type is one that the toshiba cant'read'..

Could it possibly be an MP4 Quicktime file? If it is you possibly need to convert it to dvd. If it is just a one off i would use DVDFab on a trail basis, it works fully for a month.

F1~thank you for your post

I checked the'properties'for this file and it states'Protected MPEG-4 video file...does that help ?

I think you will have a few problems in that case trying to convert it to DVD. Can you not play the file from the pc to the tv, so avoiding copying it to DVD? I'm not so sure about MPEG4 files i've never used or tried copying/converting that sort of protected files. Non protected are easily done for me, I use Nero to convert them.

.....that is not feasible,unfortunately .

This movie('Rise Up',by Luciano Blotta) also is not available on DVD(to the best of my knowledge),otherwise there would have been an easy way round this...

Thank you for your input

As far as I am aware, there is no simple way to burn a video that you have downloaded from iTunes onto a DVD, so that it plays on a standard DVD player. The copy protection prevents it.

Indeed, iTunes movies are copy protected so you can't burn them to DVD. You would have to buy some software that would explicitly - and illegally - allow you to do it, or you need to buy an Apple TV.

...what grates tho is that I paid for this, its not like I downloaded this by'illicit means' 🙂 ...but I guess that is another subject...

thank you guys for your input
