DTS Digital Output and DTS DEcoder

Hi guys,

Need ur help on this;

What is actually the different between those two? For certain DVD player in the specification, it was mentioned:

DTS Digital Output: YES...

DTS Decoder: NO

Which one is important for sound? Do we need both or not necessary since I can see most of Toshiba player got both but not for Sony player. Please clarify. Thanks

i think it means that the dvd player won't decode DTS you need a separate av amp to decode the DTS signal.... if i'm wrong i'm sure someone will correct me 🙂

Absolutely correct. It means there is no on board decoder, so that all decoding must be done by an AV amp.
