Hi all
Im on a few forums and a lady posted thus just yesterday ~

"I
had a new xenius 26" lcd teleision delivered this morning from buy as
you view. Two men came in and set it up and everything was working
absolutley fine.

Me and my husband have just been sat on
the sofa watching the new tv when there was suddenly like a crackling
then a popping sound! We looked at each other then looked back at the
tv and all the left hand side of the screen has got cracks going every
where and at the bottom of the screen it looks like its been
kicked/punched or something thrown at it? Sorry not quite sure how to
explain it, Its the first lcd tv ive ever had and have no idea what is
wrong with it. Is this a manufacturers problem? Has the tv over heated?
Nobody has been near it so i have no idea what is going on.

Any help is very much appreciated."

So 1 ~ dont buy one!

and 2 ~ does ANYONE have an explanation as to how that could happen??

Isn't it rather irresponsible to post a thread with so provocative a title based on something you have read from a total stranger on another forum?

If you have a problem with me showing that someones XENIUS tv (Of which I personally have never heard) shattered in use then by all means ~ delete the thread

Irresponsible HOW? You would rather people DIDNT know about these things happening?

Basing the argument that no one should buy a product (as your title clearly states) because one person had an issue with it isn't particularly sound though is it? By that, we could say that no one should buy anything...

Well

Following on from what youve just said there if someone reads a TITLE and decides against buying ANYTHING off Xenius then theyre a bit foolish! Anyone with interest would open up the thread to read WHY I put that and they can then make up their own minds wether to risk it or not.

But fair enough, ill change the titles in future so everyone doesnt flip!

I agree, but the likes of an old WHF forum poster who used to drive a van have shown you can't be too careful when it comes to giving advice!!

Mind you, there is a connection - the TV being discussed here comes complete with a coin-box, as explained here.

And of course the purchase scheme covers all repairs, so the original forum poster to which this thread refers has no problems with the TV, which incidentally sounds like it was damaged previously.

A former genius?

X-men Genius ?

Xenios and the feminine Xenia are epithets of Zeus and Athena, describing then as presiding over the laws of hospitality, and protecting strangers. (Lat. Hospitalis ; Paus. iii. 11, in fin.; Hom. Od. xiv. 389; Cic. ad Q. Frat. ii. 12.)

Here in the Netherlands, Xenius is also the name of a traveller vaccination institute...
