dolby digital plus ect

Hi there i'm hoping i can get a bit of help with my new sony stda2400es

i can't seem to get it to decode dolby digital plus ect i only have a 5.1 set up in my home

could this have something to do with it? i have set up my toshiba hddvd player correctly according to the

instructions and i think i have set the avr up correctly is there something i missed any tips on this would be

most thankful as it's driving me round the bend. i know you can only get this type of format using an hdmi cable

which i am and i am using discs encoded with dtshd and dolby digital plus ect.

what setting have you got for the HD DVD player and which player is it?

Of course it does i have more of the red than the blue. what with them so cheap on iNet and other sites.

it is the toshiba ep35 i have its set at bitstream and my amp is set at auto but i only get pcm out of it

when using optical i get 5.1 but when using hdmi connection i only get pcm stereo

and the dolby digital plus indicator doesn't come on the most i can get out out of it is 5.1.
