Does any one know whether the KEF 1005.2 speakers are able to accept a bananna blug. If not what connection am I allowed to use.

Hi JK,

According to SuperFi the 1005.2 speakers have "Binding posts (not suitable for banana plugs)"

Just strip the end of the cables and and use the binding posts - no termination necessary.

These are the same speakers as used in the 1005.2 speaker package which will take a 4mm plug

I am not being very helpful - perhaps best to email KEF for an authoritative answer.

Hi, I have a set of KEF 1005's and they use metal springs that you push in and place the cable in before letting the pin spring back thus trapping the bare speaker wire.

From a photo they can look like like little black/ red sockets but they are in fact like a little button (spring) that you push inwards so that you can insert the speaker cable. Cannot be used with banana plugs but guess the benefit is a direct connection and cost saving.

Nice smooth sound too
