It seem50-60 HZs that I have an irriitating noise interference produced by the power supply of my laptop. This means that when I stream muisc with the psu plugged in I get this noise but when I use the battery the noise goes .

Can I substitute the laptop psu and if so how ? Is the unit the problem or the leads / connectors

The psu ac adapter is by Asus. Model ADP - 90SB BB, Input 100-240 v 1.5 A 50-60HZ , Output 19v 4.7A, Negative centre polarity

thanks

The specs on the page mention that it's centre positive rather than centre negative....so it's no good.

Isn't it the switched mode supplies that cause the most noise?

I was refering to this statement...

The socket for the 6 different power tip connectors is moulded in such a way that the tips can only be inserted one way round, meaning that all power tips will have a centre positive polarity - please check that this complies with the laptop you wish to use this power supply with prior to use.

You often find that the specs do not align with the statements against the product with Maplins. I urge caution. Make sure you clarify with staff in the store before you buy.

You could try somewhere like here.

Please understand that I have had no experience in dealing with this company.
