The choice I was describing was the choice to visit other people’s homes

About as appealing as having teeth drilled without anesthetic to me

But now you won’t get a choice, and that’s all I want to retain.

But if it's important to you, then it's trivial to create a temporary email address that'll nuke itself after set time that you could use to exchange personal details with others on the forum.

But then how do you give them that email address when that too is against forum rules??

I have sent direct messages in the past to setup a bake-off between members in the past a couple of times as people on here in the past a specially long running members form friendship's between each other that's how HIFI forums work .
But you have to respect the decision made and most properly made on risk to protect the company that runs the site .
But the decision was properly made on risk

Funny times we live in now afraid its a shame

Blame a poorly thought out British requirement.....

No politics, please. You all know the rules...
That wasn't political. It was a statement of fact.
And it's the only reason Future Publishing instigated this move.
One can only assume in other nations things might be different, that doesn't make my comment political or nationalist.
I wholeheartedly agree they had no other option.
If you are going to chastise everyone that mentions the word British then crack on....
That's assuming it was me the comment was directed at.....
