I have some music on minidisc (mic recordings, compilations etc. etc.) but am planning to decommission my full size MD player/recorder, since it's rarely used. (I still use my portable recorder).

I borrowed my brother's Philips CD recorder (a CDR 775 if I remember correctly) to copy them to CD from my Sony (MD JE 510 i think) minidisc player via the optical digital link. However the infernal thing won't let me because it implements a copy protection system, which doesn't allow you to record from digital sources! Does anyone know of a reasonable CD recorder that I might be able to pick up on ebay, which does allow you to record from the toslink input? Thanks.

Just in case anyone reads my previous post on this topic, I've now had my question answered (on ebay of all places!). The solution appears to be to buy a professional CD recorder, so that I can set the SCMS restriction to whatever I like.
