Digital optical switch/multi source adaptor

Hi

Has anyone tried, or does anyone know anything about digital optical switches taking multiple optical inputs to one optical connection?

I've always presumed they would harm the signal in some way and degrade the sound but if I could find something that would take 4 optical inputs and do it well I might not need any other dac apart from the one in my amp which can only take one source, optical or coaxial.

Superjimbo...I have one of the type shown in your link. They are a bit plasticky but work very well. Can I notice a difference the the sound when using one.......nope. For 8 notes its hard to go wrong.

there is no reason at all why such a switch box will degrade the sound as it's all digital, paying more will just give a general better build quality and may look nicer is all
