digital feeds

i have had my mates samsung bdp 1400 player for a couple of days
i connected it to my two dacs a musical fidelity x-dac v3 and the cambridge
azur dac,and used it to feed them the digital out of my cds,
the sound was better than the cambridge cd transport i am using
why can a blu rays digital feed be better than a dedicated cd transport
or the cd out of an old marantz cd player any clues to why this should happen..

Not sure. How old is the cambridge transport?

hi lordmortlock the cambridge discmagic 1 cd transport is about 10yrs old but in good working order
the marantz is 14yrs old also works fine..
