Any difference is likely to be cosmetic at most, don't know why they do it but most of the big chains do it (Comet even get their own versions of Dyson vacuum cleaners), it's either to pretend they've got an exclusive model or it might be so they can wriggle out of price-matching promises (if they even offer them).

I agree the big box stores always seem to have different model numbers i think it has to do with price matching as well. Me I like to by original models I just feel better about it.Even though the product is exactly the same or is it?

Quite a few TV manufacturers - and Samsung in particular - sell bespoke models to individual retailers. Sometimes they'll be built to a specific price, so may lose one or two of the features from the original model.

We always insist on testing any model with a slightly different model number separately, and never assume its performance will be identical to that of a 'similar' unit.

just called samsung they should know.

the curry one is the same the only change which may be possible is shell or design only.

the techno stuff is the same.

apparently LE means LCD, 40 is size, B5 means 5 series and the last 2 numbers done mean to much but different retailers use different numbers there so its unique to them.
