The Denon 2312 would be perfect for these speakers, unless you intend to upgrade them to something more expensive at a later date.

If thats the case, the Denon 3312 may be the better option....

I'd still say the 3312. Good quality speaker's like the Q series will respond well to better amplification, and the Q300 is one of the stars of the range. Feed them well and they'll reward greatly.

If you look on a certain UK auction site, you can find the Denon AVR 3212 for the same RRP has the 2312....... :type:

I would do some research on the supplier though, as I've not heard of them before.....

Some manufacturers like Denon and Marantz now allow mail order, but it might be worth checking if they allow eBay/Amazon selling, as some manufacturers don't. If they don't, then products our Andes this way may well not come with a warranty.

I would like to see some independent review of the Denon AVR3312. I don't understand why What HiFi? haven't done one especailly with the recent issue having a review of 'one make' pairings. They really rate the Denon BDP2012 and it is irritating that the combo of that with the 3312 wasn't included. It was WhatHiFi?'s recommendation that got me into Denon a few years back in the first place and I'm quite interested in sticking to the same make!

I traded up from the Denon 1909 to the 3312 about 4 months ago (when they were very scarce). I really disliked the 1909, so was keen to avoid another Denon, but the extra power from the 3312 made all the difference. There's more supply now, so prices are lower. I compared it against the Pioneer SCLX73 (older model of the 75). The Pioneer was better for movies, but I really rated the Denon for music - the Pioneer just sounded weak and thin in Stereo mode. (I've got B&W 685 theatre pack, and an age-old Jamo sub).

have a listen to them in demo to see the difference. If you search this site, I posted my views when I initially demo'd.
