I can only make a comparison with the the DM37 and on that basis the answer is a most definite “yes”.
I’ve heard the DM38 once and didn’t notice any perceptible differences over the 37, although to be fair it could hardly be described as a proper listening session. How much of an improvement the 39 is over the 38 I have no idea, but logic suggests it is going to be incremental rather than anything major.
If it was my money then there would be no hesitation where it would be going but I wouldn’t think you would have too much difficulty in finding a dealer to do a side-by-side demo for yourself. Also, you will be able to drive a far greater range of high-end speakers with the Marantz which might be something to bear in mind for the future.
