Went to watch a 3D bluray for the first time in a few months last night, only to find that as soon as I pressed 'play' on the 3D version of the film the player started making a horrendous grinding noise.
Tried the 2D version of the disc ('Hugo') and it was fine, tried a different 3D disc ('Life of Pi') and heard the grinding noise again, tried a different 2D disc and it worked fine again.
The player is outside it's two year warrantee (purchased in September 2011), so the question is do I bother getting it repaired or grab the silver lining around the cloud here and by an Oppo??
