I have recently got a replacement avr-2310 which I setup earlier in the day. I had a 1909 which this has replaced. When I carried out the auto setup I noticed the reciever has set all the speakers to roughly -4.0db and the sub at +6.0db. The 1909 used to set everything to roughly +4.0db and the sub to +9.0.

Any ideas why the figures are so opposite for the speakers? I know pistolpete went from a 1909 to a 2310 not sure if he noticed the same issue.

what are the room measurements? and maybe it may be because of the increase in power between the two amps.

I Have a Denon 1910 and it sets the mains at between -3.5 and -1.5 and the sub at -12db which i like at about -8db, and that is in a 14ft X 11ft room

The system is in my bedroom which is quite small, around 13x8 feet. What worries me most is why it keeps putting my sub at around +9.0 db where as everything else is at around -5.0 db. Could it be due to my sub being sealed so that the test tone does not play very loud?

Sealed Cabinets tend to be less loud because of the lack of port holes but usually sound cleaner, if it sounds good there is no problem if it is set at that level, the other levels at -5db seem very normal being the room not too big and the amp quite powerful.

Thanks for the replies. The system sounds fine after some with the channel levels. I have noticed that although the 2310 has a cleaner sound and delivers a more enjoyable movie experience the bass seems lighter then the old 1909.
