This may seem like a bit of a daft one as I've only ever had integrated amps but I can have the above amp for £70! It will be mainly used for playing music from my DJ controller via phono interconnect and from my Macbook Pro via TOS link. Thing is, I currently have a CA Azur 640A. I'm I right in thinking the Denon won't do as good a job at pumping out music than the Azur? I'm not going to be using the denon for surround sound, which may seem like a bit of a waste, but it does have optical ins and for an amp that was originally £2000, this seems like a bit of a steal.

the denon, if you need digital inputs to plug your laptop in, save some money and but one of these:

I think your 640A is okay for what you need and in my opinion I dont think the denon will offer anything different.

hope this helps.
