Denon 2310 HDMI control

I decided to turn on the hdmi control on my 2310 and selected hdmi1 so that my blu-ray player can pass through to the tv when the reciever is switched off. What I noticed later was that by doing this the display on the reciever didnt completely turn off and I could see faint horizontal red lines running through the recievers display almost as if it was still powered on but without any text. Has anyone else experienced this?
