Hi All,

I have Denon 2310 receiver hooked up to a 55inch led t.v, blue ray player and pay tv.

I am looking to buy bookshelf speakers (5.1) to match 2310 for both movies and music.

Just wondering what are your thoughts and recommendations about matching 2310 with RX1 AV12?

OR even if you could please advise me something else i should look at?

I would really appreciate if someone could please give me some advice. Thanks

I have a Denon 3310 hooked up to MA R90HD 5.1 system. My room is 14x 16 feet. It sounds great and I use the system mainly for multi channel music and movies alike. A great combo. The R370HD sub is great. Def worth an audition.
Hope this helps.

Thanks David, Is there anything else you would recommend me please. I am looking to have a bipolar/tripolar kind of setup for rear speakers.

Even though the RX series is now closer in tonal balance to the BR range, looking at the BR range would be a backwards step.

If it's an all movies setup, try MK's M3 package, which uses 3x M7's across the front, 2x M4T Tripole surround speakers (Tripole is exclusive to MK), and an SB8 sub. Unless you need a compact sub, I'd substitute the SB8 for a KX12, which uses a 12" drivers as opposed to a 8" one, which will only put the cost up to £1700 instead of £1614, which is still a little cheaper than the RX1AV12 package. As far as movie reproduction is concerned, the MK's will outperform most if not all hi-fi speaker packages at their respective price points.

For about the same money as the 2310, which is a great amp, you can currently get a Yamaha RXV2065, which is a steal, which will be able to drive more awkward speakers just that little bit better.

This sounds good. But is it true that tripoles or dipoles are not very good for surround sound music?

Also what do you reckon about Dali Ikon2 as fronts, Vokal 2 as center and Ikon on wall as rears? The problem is, i have already bought 2310 and now struggling to find something thats bigger than MA Radius series and little smaller than floor standers.

Dipoles aren't so good for music, but you will find Tripoles are better in this respect as they also have direct firing drivers, helping more precise image placement.

We had the Dalis in store for a short while, and they sounded great on Arcam, but they don't quite measure up to others in store.

Hi sorry to jump into this thread but will i notice a huge difference with music etc going 7.1 using prologic 2 etc extra. At present running the MA R90HD set up in 5.1.

Should I use R90 HD for the additional rears that I use as the front L and R rears and upgrade fronts to R225 HD or stick with R90 HD all round as very happy with sound. Is there that much of an imprvement?

Using Denon AVR 3310.

Thanks

Hi I have just realised that MK speakers M-7 and M-4T are 4 ohm speakers and Denon only supports 6-8 ohm. Is there any problem in using these mk's with Denon 2310?. Thanks

Good choice going for Bi-pole /Di-pole rears by the way , I have been using Polk Ls/Fx in rear Bipole configuration for 10 +yrs , never looked back
