Ive only had a short play with it on trial and though id try to sort a couple things out before i have to pay for it if anyone can help?

Firstly, im not really happy with the way it names tracks, with the track number first - i only really want the name of the track on the file icon.

Secondly, id like, if possible, to stop it keeping the album art as ive no real need for it just now and having the album art in the folder the songs are ripped to makes it crowded and messy, and putting the artwork elsewhere seems like quite a job and, i guess, pointless, if i wanted it to come up when im browsing/playing (which i dont).

(If any of this seems misguided or theres a great convenient way of keeping artwork in case i ever need it do tell, as ive not dealt with artwork before and it might be interesting to hear some others' strategies.)

Fianally,, how does one set the tag fields and check that its doing it right?

Is keeping the track number such a train smash? It's useful for seeing the track order of a whole album on the computer, also I'm sure DBPoweramp works like WMP where when playing it doesn't show the track number, just the name, even though my file names have the number in front.

OK, the track number thing is sorted now, it just came good (which means, of course, that i may have been mistaken about it being wrong in the first place, sorry about that).

Also, it seems you can just hover over tracks ripped with dbpoweramp and see if they are tagged correctly. However, if anyone has anything to add to that or my other queries, it all helps.

Partly as an excuse for a cheeky bump, but relevant.

I downloaded a couple tracks from Amazon yesterday (2 versions of Another Girl... by The Only Ones. One was rubbish quality and the other great. I know the reason for this - one was from an old album of theirs but the other was a "2008 re-mastered version". However, i remember having one very similar to the remastered version on a compilation from some mag a few years ago, so there must be another decent version. If anyone knows anything...the difference between the 2 really is big).

Anyway, i notice that the album artwork is not itself saved to a folder (which is good for me) but if i hover over the file it tells me the artwork is in it and lo, it shows up when i play the file. Thats what i want to achieve with DBPoweramp, or to just not have the artwork at all.
