Pleased as I am with the Dacmagic I wish they'd put some different feet on it. On my Target rack with glass shelves whenever I press a button to switch it on or change source it slides all over the place. I have tried pushing the buttons with a blind fold on to eliminate expectation bias but it only makes the situation worse. Sort it out CA.

Yep, that will do the trick. I bought some isolation rubber pod things a while back and use them. I also, and this is a very technical thing, so be careful, hold on to the DacMagic whilst pressing the buttons. I do this with one hand. It stops the unit from sliding.

Do the little rubber stick-on feet that came with it not work? I've got mine in the snail's foot.....

Granted, the Dacmagic is light in comparison to the pressure you need to use the buttons - but you seem to be making an issue out of nothing.
Blutak should work or press the buttons with your thumb while holding the DAC with your fingers!

I had a Target rack with wooden shelves. The Arcam CDP would slide, but it was the ligtest bit of kit. It is only now that you mention it FolsomBlues that I have even thought of it as an issue. Musical Fidelity amps have large non slip pads that make them very secure (the V8P will not move on its wooden cabinet top). But I always thought it was for damping as opposed to slipping purposes. Please let us know what you use and if you do think there has been an improvement in sound.

- More is not better. A large, lightly loaded sheet will have a high spring rate and will not deflect enough to provide good isolation. Over compression will lead to short service life. The proper compression range is 3 to 20 per cent depending on the "Shape Factor." Shape factor is the ratio of contact surface (one side) divided by perimeter area. See page 11 for calculation of shape factors.
- Geometry matters. Small circular pieces and rings "bulge" better than squares and rectangles. "Bulgeability" makes for better isolation. Use many small discs rather than a few large rectangles for best vibration isolation performance.
- Thickness matters. The thicker the sheet, the lower the natural frequency. You need a sheet at least one-inch thick to get your natural frequency down to 10 Hertz. (10 Hertz is your target natural frequency for a 900 RPM motor.)"

Use it vertically in the supplied stand. The buttons on mine really don't need much pressure to activate (other than the power button obviously) contrary to others' experiences.
Yes I really did blindfold myself to protect against expectation bias and yes it really is a huge problem. I also drove to Neptune yesterday where I met up with my original alien abductors and we all had a lovely fried breakfast.
